Creating The Database
When the system is originally installed, a single data database is provided. However, the user may create any number of data databases. Each of these databases is self-contained, with no shared tables between the databases. The system refers to these separate databases as companies. The following is the procedure for creating a new data database.
- Enter Windows Explorer.
- Create a folder for the new data database.
- Copy the data database UB2000Data.mdb from the current live operations folder to the folder created in step 1.
- Close Windows Explorer.
- Open the MasterTrak Utilility Billing.
- Select Edit Company Information from the Setup menu. Add a record for the new company. Select Authorize User Access and select the Admin user as being authorized.
- To clear the data of the new database, Select Initialize Database from the Setup menu. This will erase all data in the current database. Be sure the correct database is selected.
