Creating The Database

 

When the system is originally installed, a single data database is provided. However, the user may create any number of data databases. Each of these databases is self-contained, with no shared tables between the databases. The system refers to these separate databases as companies. The following is the procedure for creating a new data database.

  1. Enter Windows Explorer.
  2. Create a folder for the new data database.
  3. Copy the data database UB2000Data.mdb from the current live operations folder to the folder created in step 1.
  4. Close Windows Explorer.
  5. Open the MasterTrak Utilility Billing.
  6. Select Edit Company Information from the Setup menu. Add a record for the new company. Select Authorize User Access and select the Admin user as being authorized.
  7. To clear the data of the new database, Select Initialize Database from the Setup menu. This will erase all data in the current database. Be sure the correct database is selected.
